So proud of Room 16 today.  We have had a fantastic day or creating, problem solving and working together, sharing resources and helping each other out with holding things and making suggestions.  This has been a wonderful way to finish our learning around animal enrichment.  Thank you to all parents that helped their child gather materials.  We had enough of everything and we are all proud of what we have created from our designs.  Thank you Miss Hewitt and Mr Mulchay for visiting us today.

Congratulations to our Kapa Haka performances - you were amazing I am told!  Well done.

Week 7

The Zoo - Finally

At last we were able to make it to the Zoo - special thanks to our parents who supported us on the day, it was great to have you along.

Our focus for the day was to develop our understanding of Animal Enrichment used in enclosures and how knowing and understanding an animals needs and behaviors helps us to care for them.

We had a fantastic session with our Educator and in particular seeing the Tiger so close when he came to investigate us all sitting alongside the glass.

The next step is for us to choose an animal, found at Auckland Zoo and design enrichment for them based on our new understandings.
